The Ford Escape is an agile and versatile SUV with multiple engines available. Most Escape models use the same engine, but select trim levels have additional power options. Most models have the choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is standard with the turbo four-cylinder engine.

At the base level, the Ford Escape is powered by a 1.5L engine with three cylinders. This engine produces a maximum of 181 HP, and its torque production is 190 LB-FT. The standard engine comes with an eight-speed automatic for the transmission. Next in the lineup is a 2.5L engine with a hybrid powertrain. This engine produces up to 200 HP in total power. It comes with an automatic transmission. Topping the line is a turbo 2.0L engine, which is available for those who choose to get the SEL and the Titanium models. The most powerful engine produces 250 HP in top power and 280 LB-FT in torque.
