Michigan summers put real stress on your vehicle. Heat spikes, long drives, and humid conditions affect your AC, battery, cooling system, and tires — often all at once. The Lasco Ford service team covers the four most critical summer items below, and we can handle all of them in a single visit.

Ford AC Recharge
& Inspection
When your AC starts blowing warm — or just not as cold as it used to — a refrigerant recharge is usually the first step. But a proper AC service goes further. Our technicians inspect the compressor, condenser, evaporator, and all system connections before recharging, so the fix actually holds through the season.
- AC system pressure test & diagnostic scan
- Refrigerant level check & recharge (R-134a / R-1234yf as applicable)
- Compressor & clutch operation inspection
- Condenser & evaporator visual inspection
- Cabin air filter check & replacement if needed
- Vent temperature output reading before & after
Wiper Blade
Replacement
Michigan winters are brutal on wiper blades — the cold, ice scraping, and road salt degrade rubber fast. By the time summer thunderstorms arrive on I-75, worn blades streak, skip, and chatter right when you need them most. This is one of the most overlooked service items after a Michigan winter, and one of the fastest to fix.
- Driver & passenger blade condition inspection
- Rear wiper check (if equipped)
- OEM-spec replacement blades installed
- Available through Lasco's mobile remote service

Battery Test
& Replacement
Heat is harder on batteries than cold. Summer temperatures cause battery fluid to evaporate and internal components to degrade — a battery that started fine in April can leave you stranded by July.
- Ford-approved battery load test
- Charging system & alternator output check
- Terminal corrosion inspection & cleaning
- OEM Ford battery replacement if needed
- System scan & reset after installation
Coolant Flush
& Radiator Inspection
Old coolant loses its ability to transfer heat efficiently, putting your engine at risk on a 90-degree Michigan day. Ford recommends a flush every two years or 30,000 miles — towing and highway use can move that schedule forward.
- Coolant condition & boil-point test
- Radiator drain, flush & Ford-spec refill
- Coolant hose & clamp inspection
- Thermostat operation check
- Radiator cap pressure test
Tire Pressure Check
& Rotation
Tire pressure rises about 1 PSI for every 10-degree temperature increase. What was properly inflated in April can be overinflated by July — causing uneven center wear and reduced traction at exactly the wrong time.
- All-four-tire pressure adjusted to OEM spec
- TPMS sensor function verification
- Tread depth measurement on all four tires
- Tire rotation per Ford-specified pattern
- Sidewall & rim visual inspection
Brake Inspection
& Service
Summer road trips, towing, and stop-and-go traffic put real heat into your brakes. Worn pads and low fluid are easy to miss until you hear the squeal — or worse. A quick brake inspection before vacation season is one of the most important safety checks you can make.
- Brake pad thickness measurement all four corners
- Rotor condition & wear pattern inspection
- Brake fluid level & condition check
- Caliper operation & hardware inspection
- Parking brake adjustment check
Schedule The Works Package, AC Service, or another qualifying service and our technicians include a complimentary multi-point inspection — checking over 30 items including brakes, belts, filters, fluids, and lights. Ask your service advisor which services qualify.

How do I know if my Ford's AC needs a recharge?
The most common signs are warm or inconsistent airflow, a faint chemical smell when the AC runs, or the system cycling on and off more than usual. If your AC was fine last fall but struggles now, a refrigerant check is the right first step. Schedule an inspection online.
How often should I get a coolant flush on my Ford?
Ford recommends a coolant flush every two years or 30,000 miles under normal driving conditions — whichever comes first. Towing, stop-and-go driving, or extended road trips may require more frequent service. Our technicians will test your existing coolant and advise from there.
Does Lasco Ford service all Ford models?
Yes — we service the full Ford lineup including F-150, Super Duty, Explorer, Bronco, Maverick, Mustang, Escape, Expedition, Ranger, Transit, and Ford EV models including the Mustang Mach-E. Our technicians are factory-trained across all current Ford platforms.
